What does Santander home insurance cover as standard?

Santander offers its customers a choice of two levels of cover: Classic policy or Plus policy.

Optional extras

Santander offers a wide range of optional extras cover, which can be added to whichever home insurance policy you choose for an additional fee.

These optional extras include:-

Personal belongings cover

Provides a wider level of cover for your personal belongings, covering them for loss or damage, in and away from the home, anywhere in the world.

Pedal cycles cover

Provides cover if you own pedal cycles (including electrically assisted ones) for loss and damage sustained anywhere in the world.

Pedal cycle provides cover up to £5,000 per pedal cycle.

Accidental damage cover

Provides additional cover for accidents sustained around the home.

For example, spilling a cup of coffee on the carpet or sofa (if you have contents cover) or putting your foot through a wall while carrying out DIY (if you have buildings cover).

Could provide a lawyer and up to £50,000 in legal costs in order to pursue or defend disputes in court.

Home emergency cover

Provides a tradesperson to attend in an emergency relating to loss of an essential service to the home. Up to £1,0000 per claim to cover parts, labour and VAT.

Excess and no-claims discount

For their home insurance policies, Santander has the minimum compulsory excess for the following claims: –
